This is Independence Day in the U.S.A. Erik Hare of Barataria, wrote his very profound thoughts about the matter in his post yesterday. In addition to this, the G 20 is meeting in Germany. I get the distinct feeling that our “Leaders” carry on at these meetings so they don’t have to face their issues at home. Meanwhile, our indigenous people live on reserves, most cases in squalor and without potable water to drink. You have to ask yourself if we’ve been “Sold Out”. The pictures in this video are from the “Summit of the Americas” NAFTA deal in Quebec City, April 20-22, 2001. Happy Independence Day to all our American Friends to the south. 2:50 min. 2MB

Thank you Michael. I guess there is quite a commotion there in Germany.

We need more musicians speaking out! Then I saw the Joni Mitchell piece you posted. Fantastic!! Let’s bring back the protest song, in different, new or even the old genres of music.

I’ve always thought foreign trips were designed to give the “leaders” a chance to cool off. Have a vacation. Hang out with other “leaders.” You know. “Leader” stuff.

Sorry to say, Marilyn, I think it’s to hob nob with the rich and influential and as a side benefit they don’t have to deal with the real issues at home.

Yeah… I thought that the first person may make it more interpretative… rather than trying to “paraphrase” the epic and making it confusing
