This video is called Rhodos by swo8 Blues Jazz from the album Efharisto in iTunes. We owe so much to Greece because it was here that many of the greatest thinkers, from earliest civilization, formed their ideas and these ideas still influence us today. The three pillars of Western Philosophy, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle nurtured thoughts that remain relevant in our times. Science, mathematics, mythology, politics and architecture are other very import gifts from the Greeks.
Rhodos is the largest island in the Dodecanese. The Minoans and Mycenaeans had out-posts here but when the Dorians arrived in 1100 BC, Rhodos began to gain power and influence. When we went to this ancient city, for us, it was a quest for the Colossus of Rhodos of ancient mythology. 3:18mins. 2 MB
Great video. Nice, slow, steady panning with the camera and great fades. Good work!

Was that a Bouzouki I heard? Also, were you using a standard key signature or did you go modal?

What an awesome trip this must’ve been! I loved seeing the photos of the old buildings and narrow street in your video. The music also fit perfectly.

Thank you so much Josh. Yes it was a trip of a life time. We were very spontaneous and that was possible because it was just two of us. I’m so glad you liked the music.

Right now I’m attending summer school lectures about Greek and Roman architecture and the findings by archaeologists, so I’ll take this music in my head as I go off there this morning.

On Friday I will be posting Makria Lindos. Lindos is on the island of Rhodos. We took a city bus and about 30 minutes later we were there. Neat little village with an amazing fort and Acropolis at the top of the small mountain.

When we were in Athens we took a city bus to Sounion. They have an Acropolis there too. I have pictures of it. We also went to Epidaurus, Delphi and Knossos. I have music for Epidaurus, Delphi and Knossos and I’m working on videos for them.
