The Despairing Child is a 20″ x 24″ oil on canvas painted  sometime in the 1980’s. This painting is of a troubled child. Why did I chose this subject? We are in the middle of Holy Week and unfortunately,  suffering is part of life. This is to call to mind the suffering of others, especially the children.

Thanks for blogging this, it certainly brings to life the huge amount of suffering in the world today, caused mainly by greed and power hungry countries exacerbating and stirring up wars in other countries. At the moment there are thousands of children in great need because 4 very unnecessary wars. Happy Easter. Ps. I think I will reblog and share this, so more people can take cognisance of its story,.
