Washington Black by Esi Edugyan

Screen Shot 2019-05-12 at 4.48.47 PMI’ve been reading, it’s the year 1818 and a young black slave, George Washington Black was born on a sugar plantation in Barbados. The story is about a  young boy, (Wash) born in chains, lifted up to embrace a life of dignity and meaning. It is where two people, separated by an impossible divide, begin to see each other as human. The author, Esi Edugyan is one superb writer with an unforgettable turn of phrase. It’s a page turner and I highly recommend it. 417 pages.

  1. Nope. No ads, Leslie..go figure. i’m not going to complain about this. Guess I’ll just fade quietly back into the woodwork. Needless to say, I don’t miss the ads. Just curioser and curioser.
