Part 32:
My First University:
Professor Blanchard didn’t have a dynamic style, and as a result his lectures weren’t inspirational. Then again, what can you expect of someone who has to discuss the applications of Bessel functions and other classical mathematical tools to theoretical geophysics. One day he was lecturing to a small group of us and I guess I’d fallen asleep or was dosing off. All of a sudden I opened my eyes and there was the good professor waving his hand from side to side about six inches in front of my nose; I just about fell off my chair.
With permission of the author. This is an on going story one paragraph at a time beginning on the post of July 6th. We will get back to our music and art after this little break.
I thought scientists were supposed to find this kind of thing fascinating. How’d you get to be a physicist if you’re asleep all the time?

I think it was the delivery of the subject that put him to sleep.

Yes … No or possibly … It’s l know too much about too much and l tried once or twice to warn people and they scared themselves … It’s need to know … And timing … God did not give such knowledge without the wisdom to go with it … One day ? When the world and people are ready … Ian
