This video is called Epidarus by swo8 Blues Jazz from the album Efharisto in iTunes. Apollo was worshiped at Epidarus in Mycenaean times (4th century B.C.). It was a sanctuary for the sick. Today it’s a 3rd century theatre, and it’s not the sanctuary that brings the crowds. Epidarus is renowned for its acoustics. If you whisper from the centre of the dias you can be heard from the farthest reach of the stadium. It is still used today for theatre and concerts. You can view the other videos from this album on our Youtube channel so check it out, like and subscribe to support the artists. 3:17 min. 2 MB.
Cool Music! Intriguing intro. Do any concert-goers experience healing while at Epidarus?

You never know, JoAnn. I think Maria Callas performed there. I just Googled her and there was a big uproar about it. She wanted an enormous amount of money to preform there.

It must be a rare privilege to perform in an ancient acoustically perfect amphitheater. Of course, that doesn’t mean Epidarus shouldn’t pay people well. Reciprocity for all!

We spent a couple of weeks in Athens so we could take day trips around to some of these places. There so much to see in Greece. This was one of those day trips.
