This is a 12″x16″ oil on canvas and completed in 1982. It is a portrait of a child gazing out a window. Something has caught her attention and that sense of wonder is on her face.

Beautiful painting.
You should google a Swedish artist Vera Nilsson, famous for her child paintings. But those paintings are not as sweet looking as this one, but they’re fascinating anyway. She was the one who also got the idea for the art in Stockholm subway in the 60’s I think it was. That art is still there.

I’ll do that Anna. There was a Canadian painter from the late 19th century called Paul Peel. He did some wonderful paintings of children. One was called the Bath and there was After the Bath.
