This is a 8″ x 10″ oil on canvas painted in 2007. It was February when we were in Uruguay and being in the southern hemisphere it was their summer. The gardens were lush and green and the trees on each side of the road reached up and touched over head in the centre, like a canapé. Wandering around the streets we noticed how lovely the doors on the residences were. This of course is one of them.
I thought it was a picture at first glance!

Nope, it’s an oil painting and it is hanging on our wall. Thanks for the visit.

It is a wonderful country about 50 years behind the times. The people are friendly and everything moves at a slower pace.

I do have a fondness for these types of doors because they are large, beautifully designed and strongly built.

We took a whole month in South American. Wasn’t nearly enough time. We saw Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Still lots more to see.
