This is a 5″ x 7″ acrylic on canvas board called Autumn Calls. When I got up this morning I found my corn had been flattened – probably by racoons. A bite was take from every cob but one. Those rascals, I’ll have to cage the corn in a different manner next year. So the chaos you see in the painting somewhat resembles my garden at the moment.

Oh, yes, tomatoes, carrots, parsnips, zucchini, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, beans, turnip, onions, leeks, basil, parsley, lettuce, arugula, and cantaloupe. (corn) It is a fair sized garden.

Good! At least you’ve got lots of other plants and fruits! (Have to admit, I had to Google again whether tomatoes and cantaloupes are fruits or veggies, but the answers found are kind of vague still) My fave veggies are broccoli, cauliflower, corn and legumes, maybe even squash. I used to not like veggies when I was a kid, but I like them now. There are still some that I don’t like bitter gourd, chayote, and for some reason, carrots, though I eat them when I have to anyway.

It wasn’t as if they ate it all. They took bites out of every cob except one that was over looked. They probably planned to come back the following night and finish it all.
