Mallards in the Wild by L. Martel

These are a 12″ x 16″ oil on canvas boards, painted in 1976 and they are called Mallards in the Wild. The two paintings go together and reveal the kind of country view where our family lived for many years. For compositions sake, one is suppose to do odd numbers. The convention doesn’t like twos but I do. Being a bit of a rebel – here are TWO ducks.

  1. I didn’t know there were duck conventions. I thought that was a human thing, you know, Shriners and such. Just kidding. I really don’t know any of the rules, so I wouldn’t know if I was breaking any of them. I like your ducks. Two by two and all.
